Most modern irons are designed to maximize a specific performance benefit-- usually distance, forgiveness, or feel--while sacrificing the other critical areas necessary for accurate approach shots.

Callaway shifted the center of gravity 12 percent lower and 15 percent deeper in its Razr X women's irons.
Enter Callaway's Razr X women's iron set, a true breakthrough in iron design. Razr technology leads the industry into the next generation of iron play by combining the distance and forgiveness of a wide-sole iron with the playability and turf interaction of a thin-sole iron. It's the best of both worlds in a single club.

The clubs' Variable Face Thickness (VFT) technology is tailored to each individual iron.
The secret to Razr technology is its weight distribution. Callaway shifted the center of gravity 12 percent lower and 15 percent deeper by redistributing 30 grams of weight in the back cavity. The company then tailored a refined VFT face and high-definition undercut cavity to each individual iron. The result is more consistent ball speeds across the club face, increasing distance and accuracy even on mis-hits. In head-to-head tests, Razr X irons were 56 percent more accurate than traditional irons that chase distance at the cost of accuracy. Tighter shots. Shorter putts. Lower scores. The Razr X women's irons deliver uncompromised performance with every swing.

Callaway's Razr X women's irons were a 2011 Gold Medal/Editor's Choice pick in the "game improvement" category on Golf Digest's Hot List. Outfitted with graphite shafts, the iron sets come in several configurations, including 4-SW, 5-SW, 6-SW, and 6-AW.
