Odyssey believes that relentless innovation and exploration are vital in putter technology. Enter the Odyssey Backstryke Dart putter, which includes a number of cutting-edge advancements to bring a golfer's putting game to new heights.

Using a hands-forward position with the Backstryke Dart promotes a better roll and ideal topspin.
All Backstryke putters share several technological details. The putter's visible face alignment, for instance, allows you to clearly see if the face of the putter is square to the target line without the shaft impeding your line of sight. This provides an unprecedented visual aid in lining up putts to the target line for precision and accuracy. Odyssey also added a technology called forward press visualization, which promotes an upward stroke into the ball when you use a hands-forward position. This ascending stroke imparts faster topspin and generates a truer roll. The shaft position also helps create a stable, straight line with your leading arm, so your wrists are less likely to break down during the stroke. In addition, the position of your hands encourages a longer and lower follow-through for better consistency.

As with many Odyssey putters, the Backstryke Dart includes a White Ice insert. The multilayer insert has been fine-tuned to enhance sound, responsiveness, resilience, and consistency. The inner core is 19.6 percent firmer to enhance the feel and 92 percent stiffer for better resiliency. The face surface has also been roughened to enhance the sound at impact with softer golf balls; this rough texture helps increase friction between the ball and the insert to promote forward roll. Finally, the shaft is stroke balanced on the axis, which promotes a fluid, stable stroke path that's consistent and accurate while leading to better distance control.

The Backstryke Dart is polished off with a perimeter-weighted mallet head with a Dart alignment.

About Odyssey Putters
An Odyssey putter is a promise made. Odyssey designs each of its putters to help golfers to slay more demons and sink more putts. But the company also designs them to withstand any kind of punishment, and then backs them up with an Odyssey assurance of quality. Odyssey rarely sees a putter returned, but if you find a defect within a two-year period, the company will repair or replace it no questions asked. And that's a promise kept.

About Odyssey
Odyssey believes you can overcome a ton of adversity on the golf course--including nasty rough and deep sand traps--but that you live or die on the green. That's why the company has created some of the industry's most innovative putters over the years. In 1991, Odyssey released the first mallet putters molded entirely from a lightweight, soft, and resilient elastomer called Stronomic. Two years after its introduction, the Stronomic putter earned its first Tour win and quickly garnered wide acceptance among pros. By 1995, Odyssey had claimed 26 first-place victories across the six major tours, and by 1996 had claimed its first Masters win. In subsequent years, Odyssey unveiled the Tri-Force line, which offers a unique tri-sole design that squares the setup at address; the White Hot, with a patented insert that proves softer and more responsive than the Stronomic; and the White Steel, which combines a precision-milled, stainless-steel insert and an improved White Hot urethane insert to produce more precision and accuracy than ever before. In 2003, Odyssey neared a staggering 50 percent market share within the putter business, and has continued to profoundly influence the market ever since.

“Relentless innovation and exploration are vital to making putters that revolutionize the game. It’s with a rebellious and independent flair for design and a dedication to the science of putting that allowed us to develop Backstryke. It’s just the latest example of Odyssey continuing to give golfers cutting edge putters that help put the ball in the hole more often.” — Austie Rollinson, Odyssey Principal Designer. Allows golfers to clearly see if the face is square to the target line without the shaft impeding the line of sight. Provides an unprecedented visual aid in lining up putts for precision accuracy. Hands forward position without de-lofting promotes an upward stroke into the ball, imparting topspin faster to generate true roll. Shaft position helps create a stable, straight line with the leading arm. By being balanced on the axis of the putting stroke, it promotes a fluid, stable path that’s more consistent, accurate and controlled.
